Every BMW has dozens of ECUs (engine, transmission, infotainment, etc.), and each one runs software that BMW updates over time. These updates are grouped into what’s called an I-Step.
I-Step (Integration Level) refers to the software version or firmware level installed on your BMW's electronic control units (ECUs).
Retrofit Coding and Programming, FCS Activation, e.g. Carplay, Speed Limit Dispaly, KAFAS, Maps Updates etc.
